Science and Faith Examined (SAFE):
October 7th 2023 at 6pm in Hameetman Multipurpose Room. We are excited to welcome Dr. Josh Brake, an Assistant Professor of Engineering at Harvey Mudd College who received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Caltech, and Kurt Keilhacker, a General Partner at Elementum Ventures, a Silicon Valley venture capital fund focused on deep tech. Drawing on their experiences in the field, the two will explore the question: Does technology help or hinder human flourishing? And will consequently discuss how we can use curiosity to tune our practices as users and designers in a tech-centric world. Following their talk, we will launch into a moderated Q&A and then proceed with small-group table discussions.
April 15th at 6:30 in Hameetman Conference Room. Dr. Charles Cao speaks on Quantum Gravity and parallels that he sees with science and faith topics. Keep and eye out for future events (once a quarter).
